Laney Alberts and Jason Magnus eagerly proceed with their prom plans, determined to have a normal night in spite of their Immortal destiny. However, when a mysterious visitor appears claiming the Astra Queen desires the pair’s presence, everything changes.
Despite his skepticism, Jason finally agrees to visit the queen so Laney can learn about her Astra background.
Too late they discover an enemy has set a trap for Laney. In his attempts to free her, Jason’s powers are tested. But, when faced with shocking details of his past, Laney must decide whether or not she’ll continue the mission.
With their futures and the fates of both worlds at stake, everything depends on Laney’s choice. And their survival.
The adventure continues in Immortal Dreams Book Two: Astral Love.
Welcome Bethany! Tell us a little about your novel.
Astral Love is Book Two in my Immortal Dreams Trilogy. It continues the story of Laney and Jason. Beyond finding out about Immortals and accepting the Fates destiny for her and Jason, Laney is also finding out there’s more to the story than she thought. For one thing, at the end of Book One (Divine Love) she finds out there’s such beings as Astras, but she doesn’t know what they are. Book Two answers those questions and also gives the reader a deeper look into Jason. Is he really the hero and what’s in his past that could potentially put a halt to their mission? Only way to find out is to read the novel.
It took me approximately 4 months to write Astral Love (It took me about 6 months to write Book One). That’s the shortest amount of time to date that it’s taken me to write a novel. (Unless Book Three has taken me less time, I’m not sure, I haven’t kept track of how long it’s taken to write Book Three).
There’s one thing I wish I could share, but I don’t want to put in too many spoilers, so I’ll just say I’m glad I’m married to an amateur astronomer and that I know someone else who’s into astronomy. I learned some really cool things about this one galaxy that plays a role in the story and some stuff about stars—not everything I’ve learned made it into the novel, but it was still fascinating.
In each of the three novels of the Trilogy, I introduce new characters—that’s on purpose. Some of them are allies and some of them are enemies. It’s been fun to do a bit of both for each novel.
What are you currently writing? Can you tell us a little about it?
I’m writing Book Three of the Trilogy. I’ll be doing a cover reveal in the early part of December. I can’t say much about the novel itself (I don’t want to give away the end of the series) but let’s say this one has hardly any “down time” for my poor characters. I throw so much at them. There’s a lot of excitement, tons of new creatures, and a few new characters, too. I just finished writing one of the ending scenes and even I couldn’t stop writing that scene until I was done. Which meant another late night for me. But hopefully worth it. I’m almost done writing it—I think I just have one or two chapters left. Then I’ll go into editing it. Book Three is supposed to release in January 2015, depending on how critique and edits go, we’ll see. But I’m trying to get it in as soon as I can. The editing process is important to me because I like to put out the best I can possibly do, so I don’t want to rush things too much.
Here's an excerpt from Astral Love---Enjoy!
Laney gripped her armrest and stared out the front windshield. “What the heck?”
Jason put the car into park. Something about the woman made his senses go on alert.
What’s wrong with this person and why is the woman giving me a bad feeling?
“What does she think she’s doing?” Laney reached for the door handle.
“No, wait,” Jason warned. “She’s not human.”
