Putting coats or jackets on little ones can take anywhere from a minute to ten minutes. And if you have multiple little ones...well a quick trip to the store for a chocolate fix could take all day. Here's a trick I use at preschool to get three year olds to put their jackets on all by themselves. It is hard to explain so be sure to check out the pictures.
Step One: Lay the coat on the floor---open with the sleeves spread out. The hood or top of the jacket needs to be where the child's feet will be when they put it on. It will appear upside down to them---because it is! This needs to be done by the adult for a while---at preschool the kids can sometimes place their own coats on the floor by February...sometimes not until May.
Go ahead---I know you want to try this as an adult....the flip is so much fun! I demonstrate it for my preschoolers every year:)
