It's back to school time! My Sunshine Class of twelve little 3 year olds walked through the preschool doors today for the first time. Yes, there were a few tears (shed by more moms than kids), but once we started our day....smiles graced each and every one of their faces. I cannot wait to see them back on Friday!

Today I'm highlighting a fellow Soul Mate Author who also writes children's books----Tina Susedik!
Welcome, Tina and tell us a little about your children's book, The Hat Peddler.
Picture
The idea for "The Hat Peddler" came in 1998 while my husband and I participated in a Voyageur adventure during Wisconsin's Sesquicentennial celebration. At the end of the day-long canoe trip, participants had to either tell a story or sing a song around the campfire, just like the voyageurs did at a rendezvous.

Since I'm a writer, my husband said I had to tell a story. Years before, while teaching kindergarten, I used "Caps for Sale" by Esphyr Slobodkina as a learning tool for my students. On this day, I re-told the story, but with a Wisconsin twist. The idea for "The Hat Peddler" was born.

I love "Caps for Sale"! Tell us more about your version of this classic!

Jeremiah is a hat peddler during the fur-trading days. While carrying his wares on his head, he travels down the Fox River from Green Bay to the Wisconsin River to Prairie du Chien where the fur traders met for their spring rendezvous. Along the way he loses his hats to various wild animals and sets out to get them back. Bears, skunks, deer and raccoons all set out to make his life miserable. Will he make it to the rendezvous on time to sell his hats?

This sounds like a book my preschoolers would like---we love to explore different animals and compare the wild ones to tame ones. When will  I be able to buy a copy?

We're looking at a November release. It will be available through amazon, Barnes & Noble and my website.

Awesome! Here's a little bit about Tina and a look at her romance novel, Riding For Love.

As a child, Tina always had stories floating around in her head, but had no idea those stories could be put down in book form. One day her brother (yes, her brother) introduced her to Kathleen Woodiwiss’ The Flame and the Flower. Tina was hooked and a love of reading and eventually writing romance began. Besides her romance, she is also a non-fiction writer with seven history books in print. She has two children's books being released this fall. Another romance is due to be published this fall under a pen name with Wild Rose Press and she has signed a contract for a short story for a Valentine's Anthology with Soul Mate Publishing.

During one of her many moves with her family, she started writing children's stories and took classes with the Institute of Children's Literature. Life and other writing took precedence over her children's books, but now she's returned to her first love.

Tina has been married for over forty years and lives in Wisconsin. After careers in accounting and teaching (not necessarily at the same time), she found her career in writing is what fulfills her the most. When not writing, she loves camping, hiking, photography, reading and playing with her five grandchildren.

She is a member of Romance Writers of America and Wisconsin Romance Writers of America.
She can be found on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, Soul Mate Publishing and The Romantic Times.

Riding for Love---
Eve Dayton, owner of a riding ranch, rose above her childhood past and overcame the emotional damage her boyfriend caused when he married another woman. When someone starts sabotaging her ranch, Eve is desperate to find the culprit before she loses everything. Is it a coincidence or is the return of Denton Johanson tied to the mystery?

Divorced Denton Johanson returns to his hometown to help convict the embezzling controller of the family business. When he runs into Eve, he realizes his feelings for her are still strong enough to try and win her back. His fear of horses won’t get in the way of his goal and decides the only way to be near her is to take riding lessons from her. Can he convince her that his love is real and he is not behind the mystery surrounding the ranch?

Eve Dayton's former boyfriend returns to town just as problems start arising at her horse riding ranch. Can she believe his declaration to be part of her life again? Will she overcome the suspicion that he is part of the problem and accept his help in catching the culprits? Find out how Denton Johanson triumphs over his fears to win back her love.
